Repackaging donated food for use at food pantries around the Valley is the single most important volunteer task at the Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley.
In fact in 2007, Food Bank RGV volunteers enabled Valley hunger relief partner agencies to deliver over 1.3 million meals to neighbors in need. Food Bank RGV volunteer hours are Monday through Friday from 8 am – 5 pm. Volunteer hours are extended Thursday nights from 6 – 9 pm. Groups or 10 or more may arrange special hours to accommodate their schedules.
