Fighting Hunger, Feeding Hope!

Coronavirus Response from CEO

During this time when the news is dominated by COVID-19 ( the Coronavirus), I wanted to personally reach out and let you know that The Food Bank RGV is diligently implementing enhanced protocols to ensure the welfare, well-being, and wellness of our staff, clients, and partner agencies.

The health and safety of everyone in our community is our top priority and shapes everything that we do and will do. We have been engaging on an ongoing basis with a wide range of public health experts, infectious disease specialists and governmental agencies on every level, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to obtain the latest and most accurate information.

In addition, we are in constant communication with Feeding America and Feeding Texas for network and state response. We are continuing to monitor developments and are regularly conveying guidance from experts regarding good hygiene practices and the latest recommendations.

We will continue to undertake these precautions and best practices to fulfill our role as the largest charity provider of water, food, and supplies in the Rio Grande Valley. We realize that during times of disaster or when regional outbreaks occur, our efforts and resources are even more critical. We are here to serve those in need in the safest and most effective way possible.

We send our best wishes for a speedy recovery to all individuals and communities that have been impacted by the Coronavirus.

Our focus remains mission critical and preparedness over panic. We will move forward proactively rather than reactively to support our neighbors during this health crisis.

Stay safe, this too shall pass.

Sincerely,

Stuart I.R. Haniff, MHA
Chief Executive Officer
