Mesa Llena is a Community Food Project of the Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley. Mesa Llena is located at 1216 E. Tyler Ave in Brownsville, Texas next door to the Good Neighbor Settlement House. The property was once a thrift store operated by Good Neighbor Settlement House but with the need for a food pantry and community resources; it was decided that the building would be re-purposed. Through funding from the Valley Baptist Legacy Foundation and hard-work the building was renovated and transformed into a Food Pantry and Multi Service Center.
Mesa Llena is a client choice pantry providing a variety of food options with access to fresh produce and healthy food choices. The Food Bank RGV wishes to provide better options for the community for better nutrition and better health. Mesa Llena also features an on-site demo kitchen for nutrition classes as well a calendar full of community empowering activities and events such as financial literacy classes, zumba, and more.
